Bernard "Bernie" Michael Demma

Bernard “Bernie” Michael Demma,89, of Center Twp., Pennsylvania passed away on Saturday July 23, 2016 at his residence.

He was born on July 17, 1927 in Freeport, Illinois, a son of the late Bart and Margaret Demma and he was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church as well as a life long member of the Center Twp. VFW. He worked as an electrician for J+L Steel and was an avid golfer. Bernie served in the United States Airforce, and the United States Navy, earning a Pacific Theater Ribbon, an American Theater Ribbon, and a Victory Medal

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Janice McMichael; and a sister, Rita Antonelli.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Rose Piroli Demma; two daughters and sons-in-law, James and Valerie Demma Hallisey of Georgetown, PA; and Dave and Bernie Mays of Economy; a sister, Eleanor Wynn of Chesapeake, VA; a son-in-law, Pete McMichael; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous golf buddies. Bernie is also survived by his “Little Bastard”, Zipper.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Darroch Memorial Chapel, 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa www.darrochfuneralhome.com.

A memorial service  will be held on September 10th 2016 at 2pm at the Center Twp. VFW.
