Sara D. Gress

Sara D. Gress, 97, of Aliquippa, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021.

She was born on February 29, 1924 in Ambridge, PA, a daughter of the late Joseph and Assunta (Segretti) Dodaro.  She was a member of Mary, Queen of Saints Parish, Our Lady of Fatima Church.  Sara served as a crossing guard in Hopewell for more than 30  years.  She was an amazing cook and she loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Gress; three brothers, John, Eugene, and Frank Dodaro; and two sisters, Evelyn Melnyk; and Jean Retzer.

Sara is survived by a son, John Gress and his wife MaryAnn; three daughters, Janice Hredzak and her husband John; Debra Dinello and her husband Albert; and Carol Speich and her husband Tom; six grandchildren, John (Jen) Gress; Melissa (Armand) Luzi; John (Laurie) Hredzak; T.J. (Molly) Speich; Britini (Ryan) McSweeney; and Tyler (Olivia) Speich; and five great grandchildren, A.J.; Dominic; Brynne; Andrew; and Jack.  She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm in Darroch Cremation and Funeral Tributes, Inc., 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa www.darrochfuneralhome.com where prayers will be offered on Wednesday at 9:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Mary, Queen of Saints Parish, Our Lady of Fatima Church.

Entombment will follow in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
