Sandra Carlin Obituary

Sandra Lee Carlin, 74, of Chippewa passed away peacefully into Jesus arms, surrounded by her family on November 6, 2023. Born, September 14, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Guiseppe and Antoinette Giannetti of Aliquippa, PA. She was the last of 6 children to be born. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother John Giannetti, his wife, Jan Giannetti, her sister, Stella Sharatz, brother-in-law Tim Gibson and brother, Pete Giannetti.

She was the beloved wife of John Carlin for 28 years. They were married on September 22nd, 1995 but started dating in 1990 and remained a loving couple until her earthly time was ended unexpectedly.

She will be greatly missed by her children, David (Marla) Gibson, Tricia (Dennis) Hopkins, Jim (Amy) Gibson and Dane (Dace) Carlin. Her sister, best friend, twin, ride or die, Betty Jean Gibson was the best big sister anyone could ask for. She was there for every single life moment no matter the size. They never didn’t show up for each other. Her older brother and his wife, Benjamin & Phyllis Giannetti and her sister-in-law who was like a blood sister to her, Patricia Giannetti.

More than anything, she loved her grandchildren, Brooke (Stephen) Almendarez, Sydney & Tyler Trimbath, Daniel, Evan, Sophia, Luca & Gianna Gibson, Cain & Hunter Hopkins, Nick & Lena Levenson, Brianna Allison, Leo, Laura, & Ziggy Carlin. She also had 3 great grandchildren, Mason Trimbath, Benjamin and Bradley Almendarez.

She has so many nieces & nephews that were like siblings to her since they were all around the same age with her being the baby of the family. She also loved her cousins and talked to us about our family in Cleveland and “on the farm” that was only in Hopewell on Monaca Road. She would have had a family reunion every month if she could because her family, every single one of them and some that probably weren’t, are what she cherished the most so, why not be together all the time.

She was a woman of strong faith and loved going to any and all church events. She has attended The Church of Jesus Christ (Aliquippa Branch) that her own father helped to build, for her entire life. She didn’t preach the word or push anyone; she showed her love for God with her actions and volunteering anytime an occasion arose that allowed her assist.

She would also want to let everyone know that she had the best life-long friends’ group. Theresa Parsons, Angie Kotch & Tami Cheuvront have been by her side for almost all of her life. They have all shared so many life events, including their kids. They have taken care of her so many times and have shown her so much love and what true friendship is. She never missed a chance to tell her family about their gatherings, dinners, crafting, decorating, shopping and binge watching their favorite series.
