Obituary
Matthew John Abbott, Jr., 72, of Independence Twp., passed away on Friday, September 8, 2023.
He was born on July 18, 1951 in Pittsburgh, PA a son of the late Matthew and Antoinette “Randy” Abbott. Matthew was a retired carpenter from Local Union 142 and he proudly served in the U.S. Navy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jo Abbott.
Matthew is survived by his wife Donna (Smith) Abbott; three children, Ashley Abbott, (Nick Forgione) and Matthew Abbott, (Rachel Szelc), Theresa Smith and a grandson, Trey Smith. His brother Bernie and wife Chrissy Abbott. A sister/brother in law Linda and Dante Tessore and many nieces and nephews.
There will not be a public viewing, however, a Celebration of Matthew’s Life will be held at the Abbott Residence September 23rd at 3:00pm.
