Mary Lovasich

Mary Lovasich, age 100, of Hopewell Twp., passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2023.

She was born on March 16, 1923 in Aliquippa, a daughter of the late Michael and Sophie (Vignjevic) Opsenica.  Mary was a long-time member of Mary, Queen of Saints Parish-Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. 

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Lovasich; a great grandchild, Abigail Kennedy; two sisters, Dorothy Arsevich and Diane Yanjtovich; two brothers, Joe and Nick Opsenica; and a son-in-law, Joseph Volpe.

She is survived by a daughter, Donna Volpe; a son, Michael Lovasich and his wife Kathleen; four grandchildren, Michael (Julie) Lovasich, Jr.; Julie Lovasich; April Eakles; and Brian Lovasich; four great grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob and Joseph Kennedy; and Logan Eakles; a great great grandchild, Judy, and a sister, Lynn Essek.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Sunday from 5pm to 8pm in Darroch Cremation and Funeral Tributes, Inc., 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa www.darrochfuneralhome.com where a Blessing Service will be held on Monday at 11am.

Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
