Martha C. Gropp, 84, of Hopewell Twp., died on Sunday, September 26, 2021 in Good Samaritan Hospice Heritage Valley Beaver surrounded by her loving family.
Born March 18, 1937 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late William and Martha (Perry) Clowes, she spent 44 years teaching in the Hopewell School District. Her biggest joy was running into past students and hearing what they accomplished in their lives. She was also active in numerous community organizations.
The only thing that Martha loved more than teaching was her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Leroy Gropp.
She leaves her daughter, Nancy Kavinsky and husband Duke; grandson, Andrew (A.J.) Kavinsky and wife Jordan; brother Baird Clowes and wife Sue; sister Nancy Schafer and late husband John; brother-in-law David Gropp and late wife Mary; three nephews, William (Clipper) and Laurie Clowes, John and Cheryl Gropp, and Jim Gropp; five nieces, Jean and Mike Puglia, Tammy and Jeff Chupa, Dawn and Joe Marruchella, Kim Schafer and John Misuraca, and Wendy and Eric Sivertsen. She is also survived by five great-nieces and three great-nephews.
Friends will be received on Monday from 2-4pm and 6pm until the time of funeral service at 7pm in Darroch Cremation and Funeral Tributes, Inc., 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa. www.darrochfuneralhome.com. Burial will be private.
