Margaret Yargats Obituary

Margaret M. Yargats, a resident of Masonic Village of Sewickley passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018.  She was born on November 21, 1922 in Bangor ME and was the wife of the late Paul J. Yargats of Aliquippa, PA.  She is survived by her son John P. Yargats and daughter-in-law Tammy R. Yargats of Pittsburgh, PA.  Margaret has two grandchildren, Jonathan Yargats and Amanda Dempsey and three great grandchildren, Peyton Dempsey, Parker Dempsey, and Logan Dempsey.  She was preceded in death by her brother James Mooney and sister Francis Coffin of Maine.  She is also survived by her niece Jennifer (Jenny) MacKenzie, nephews, James Mooney, John Mooney, Patrick Mooney, Philip Coffin and Mark Coffin.

Margaret served in the United States Army during WWII as an Army Nurse in the Philippines during which time she met her late husband Paul Yargats.  After the war she worked as a registered nurse at Dow Field Air Force Base in Bangor, ME.  Margaret served on the Board of Directors at Dixmont State Hospital, and she was a long time member and once president of the Women’s Club of Aliquippa.  She also worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue as a field investigator.   She was also a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10am in St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church (Everyone please meet at the church)

Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
