Lois Davie Obituary

Lois N. Davie, 98, of Hopewell Twp., passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.

She was born on September 14, 1926 in Brownsville, PA, a daughter of the late James Wade and Edith Ethel (Grose) Lemmon.  Lois was a member of Ohio U.P. Church where she served as Deacon, Trustee, and Elder.  She taught Sunday School, helped with Vacation Bible School, sang in the choir, played in bell choir.  She was a member of the board for B.F. Jones Memorial Library, she served on Hopewell’s Park Board, she worked in the kitchen and delivered Meals-on-Wheels.  She retired from the Hopewell Area School District where she taught 5th and 4th graders for 32 years.

In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Davie; two brothers, Donald Lemmon and Thomas Lemmon; and a sister, Joan Irwin.

She is survived by her sister, Nancy Grisnik as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 4pm to 7pm in Darroch Cremation and Funeral Tributes, Inc., 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa www.darrochfuneralhome.com where  a Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11am.

Private interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to B.F. Jones Memorial Library or to Geneva College.
