Joan Marie (Smithnosky) Bobchak, 86, of Hopewell Twp., passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2018.
She was born on June 6, 1932 in Aliquippa, a daughter of the late Joseph Andrew and Mary (Kundla) Smithnosky. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Joan graduated from Edinboro University with a degree in art. She was the art teacher for both Hopewell Jr. High School and Hopewell Senior High School for 9 years. She was a member of the Pittsburgh Water Color Society, the Pittsburgh Society of Artists, she was past president of West Hills Art League, and past president of Beaver Valley Artists.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Bobchak; her sister, Joyce Cable; and her brother, Richard Smithnosky.
Joan is survived by her son, Darrell Bobchak and his wife Vickie, Hookstown; a daughter, Cheryl Rabovsky and her husband Rick, Georgia; three grandchildren, Nicole Bobchak; and Jacob and Ryan Rabovsky; and a sister-in-law, Karen Smithnosky. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm in Darroch Cremation and Funeral Tributes, Inc. 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa www.darrochfuneralhome.com where prayers will be offered on Friday at 12:30pm followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM in Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
Entombment will follow in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
