Jean (Darroch) Tovey

Jean (Darroch) Tovey, 86, of Center Twp., passed away peacefully on Friday, March 31, 2023.

She was born on August 11, 1936 in Aliquippa, a daughter of the late James and Frances (Hallisey) Darroch.  She was a member of Mary, Queen of Saints Parish-St. Frances Cabrini Church.  Jean worked as a secretary at Sewickley Academy.  She enjoyed playing golf and bowling, and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis R. Tovey; a granddaughter, Stacey; four brothers, James, Leo, Thomas and Dick Darroch; and three sisters, Mildred Ciccone; Mary Frances Daniel; and Kathleen Salvati.

Jean is survived by three daughters, Sheila Sonsino; Becky Lieb and her husband Scott; and Carrie Leeds and her husband Ron; nine grandchildren, Grace; Elsa; Flora; Mathias; John Paul Louis; Beatrice; Susanna; Margaret; and Leighton Louis; a brother-in-law, Lou Salvati; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dolly and Lee Canonico.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the aides and nurses that took care of Mom at the Villa.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Sisters of St. Joseph in Baden or to Concordia @ the Villa St. Joseph.

Friends will be received on Monday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm in Darroch Cremation and Funeral Tributes, Inc., 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa www.darrochfuneralhome.com where prayers will be offered on Tuesday at 9:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Frances Cabrini Church.
