Frank Henry William Seels

Frank Henry William Seels died on October 23rd, 2025, at Post Acute Care in McMurray, Pennsylvania. He was 83 years old. Frank was born in Montreal, grew up on Long Island, and spent summers at Lake Okeechobee in Florida. He attended Bucknell University (PA) where he received a B.A. in Chemistry and B.S. in Chemical Engineering. His Master of Education was from the University of Pittsburgh.

            He spent many years as an Industrial Water Consultant for Calgon Corporation and Drew Industrial Division of Ashland Chemical Company. While at Drew he received the award for Technical Excellence in 1986.

            Frank had a fascination with science that lasted throughout his life. Sometimes he seemed like Pied Piper as kids or adults followed him and learned about science. He loved landscaping, classic cars and his land at Tygart Lake in West Virginia. He was the family photographer. He leaves a legacy of thousands of treasured photos. 

            Frank was preceeded in death by his parents, Henry Frank Seels and Anna Ruth Click from Moore Haven (FL) and his sister, Laura (William) Kendall from Lakeland (FL). He is survived by his wife, Patricia Angelo from Hopewell Township (PA), his daughters, Fiona (Anthony Lowe) Seels from Pittsburgh (PA), and Jody (John) Tucker from Frenchtown (MT) and his grandchildren, Liam and Keeley Lowe Seels and Jackson and Lily Tucker.  Other survivors include his nephews, Michael Kendall from Lakeland (FL) and Todd Kendall from Ocala (FL) and Frank's ex-wife, Barbara Seels from McMurray (PA).

            He is also survived by his stepchildren Deanne Henshaw from Hopewell Township (PA), Michelle Wesche from Baden (PA), Janet Copely from Oil City (PA) and Nicholas Angelo from Rock Hill (SC) and many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

            Burial will be in historic Allegheny Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy at 800 Waterfront Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15222, telephone 412-288-2777.
