Obituary

Elva Antel, 100, of Hermitage, PA, formerly of Hopewell Township passed away on Wednesday evening, September 7, 2022.  She was the daughter of  Artemis (Descutner) and Joseph Cujas.  She was born on January 13, 1922 in McDonald, Pa where she lived with her brother George Cujas and Sister Arlene (Cujas) Easton until she married her husband Robert Antel in December of 1947.  In 1950, Robert and Elva moved to Hopewell Township, where they became active members of the Ohio United Presbyterian Church.  Robert and Elva were married 54 years.    

 

For the majority of her life, Elva was a homemaker and loved to cook, bake, knit, read, play cards, and travel.  She was employed as a cook at Howard Johnson’s and also worked at Kaufmann’s Department Store for 15 years.

 

After Retirement, Elva and Robert loved to travel in their camper to many places, particularly Florida,  to visit family and friends.  After the passing of Robert in 2001,  she met Mert Drake of NY, who became her traveling companion for 18 years.    

 

Elva is survived by her two sons Dale (Bobby) Antel and Wife Debra of Massachusetts and James Antel and his wife Diane Hermitage, PA.  She was the grandmother of 5 beautiful grandchildren, James Antel and wife Jill, Hermitage PA, Jayne (Antel) Kornbau and husband Matthew of Hermitage PA, Brendon Antel of New Hampshire, Barry Antel of Massachusetts, Brian Antel  and wife Amber of Florida.

 

She had ten great grandchildren Maeli, Mira, and Kyler Kornbau or Hermitage, PA, Alyssa and Astyn Antel of hermitage PA, Maelynn, Merrick, and Makenna Antel or Florida, and Mya and Kyla Antel of Massachuettes.

 

She was also blessed by her oldest great granddaughter Mya, and become a great-great grandmother in June of 2022 with the birth of Harper Guiliano of Massachusetts

 

Elva was proceed in death by her husband Robert Antel,  her sister Arlene Easton and bother George Cujas    

 

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 3pm until the time of funeral service at 6pm in the Darroch Cremation and Funeral Tributes, Inc., 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa www.darrochfuneralhome.com
