Elizabeth Ann (Farland) Kanfush, Center Township, died peacefully on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at St. Barnabas-Beaver Meadows. Born February 13, 1930, in Ambridge, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of James and Bessie (Heslop) Farland. A long-time member of Saint Frances Cabrini Roman Catholic Church, now Mary Queen of Saints Parish, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Philip M. Kanfush, Jr., her parents, brothers and sisters-in-law James (Elsie) Farland, William (Shirley) Farland, Franklin (Dorothy) Farland, and Daniel Farland, along with son-in-law Lawrence Kempa and granddaughter, Hanna Rae Ensworth. Elizabeth is survived by son, Rev. Philip Michael Kanfush, O.S.B., Latrobe, PA, Denise A. Kempa, Moon Township, PA, Ladonna (James) Dmitsak, Center Township, PA, Monica (Kevin) Gorman, Medina, OH, Aileen (Kevin) McCullogh, Center Township, PA, Michaleen (Scott) Ensworth, Patterson Heights, PA. Mrs. Kanfush is also survived by grandchildren David (Lora) O’Neil, Meghan Morgan, Brian (Ashley) O’Neil, Lauren (Gregory) Klinefelter, Lyndley (Bradley) Maddox, Erin (Peter) Rinto, Christy (Kristopher) Stegemoller, Maura (Kevin) Neumann, Andrew McCullogh (fiancé Bronté Lucci), Katie (Logan) Urtz, Emily (Matthew) Ensworth-Smith, RaeAnn Ensworth (fiancé Reese Clutter), great-grandchildren Tyler, Taryn, Kennedy, Landon, Anna, Sydney, Kinsley, Maverick, Gracyn, Griffin, Gwen, Reagan, Caden, Brecken, Adam, Claire, Lucas, Noah, Patrick, Mason, Anna, Jack, Ellis, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Wednesday, June 11 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Darroch Cremation and Funeral Tributes, Inc., 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa PA. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 12 at 10:00 a.m. at Mary Queen of Saints Parish, Saint Frances Cabrini worship site, 115 Trinity Drive, Aliquippa, PA, with the Reverend Philip Michael Kanfush, O.S.B. officiating.
Much gratitude is expressed for the nursing and hospice staff of St. Barnabas Beaver Meadows whose dedication and kindness made Elizabeth’s final days comfortable and peaceful.
