Donald (Don) Ross of Monaca, PA passed away May 19, 2025 at the age of 84. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. He was known for his dynamite personality and endearing way of showing concern for others. He was born on July 18, 1940 in Aliquippa, PA. After graduating from Hopewell High School in 1958, he served in the U.S. Army for two years. He then relocated to New York City where he earned his BBA degree from Baruch College of CUNY. He worked for J&L Steel in NYC prior to having a career of over 25 years at IBM - Office Product Division.
He lived in NYC and NJ prior to moving back to the Beaver County, PA area where he worked at PNC bank for a number of years prior to his current employment at Sheetz in Monaca, PA.
Don is survived by his wife, Joyce D’Amico Ross of 37 years. He had four children from a previous marriage of which three survive him: daughter Suzette Ross of NJ, along with grandsons Joshua Huttenberger of Dallas, TX and Jacob Huttenberger of NJ; son Jason Ross and his wife Lisa, along with grandson Jared Ross and granddaughter Lena Ross; and daughter Janette Ross of NJ. He is also survived by his sister Sharon Staley and husband Ken of Auburn Hills, MI; Uncle Matthew DeLuca and his wife Charlotte of Aliquippa, PA; along with many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Don was preceded in death by his son Jared Ross; his parents, Thomas and Josephine Ross; and his sister Janet Gibson and brother-in-law Paul.
Don’s lifetime passion was telling others of Jesus Christ. He loved The Lord. He had a lifetime of service to The Church of Jesus Christ where he was a member for 50 plus years, had many offices and responsibilities of which he gave one thousand percent of his heart and energy. He served as an elder (minister) for several years. He is best known for his passion of impacting the youth, having held the offices of Vice President and President of the GMBA. He was editor of The Gospel News for a number of years. He was meticulous and detailed when it came to ensuring The Gospel News was presented in the best way possible. He also made numerous missionary trips to Venezuela and had a genuine love for the people there.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 31st 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ, 4 Ross Drive, Aliquippa, PA. Officiating minister will be Elder Cameron Staley, Don’s nephew, assisted by Evangelist John Mark D’Antonio.
