David Russell “Russ” Harris, age 85, of Aliquippa, Pa., for the past sixty four years, was called home to his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 11, 2020, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Born on May 7, 1934 in Enterprise, W.Va. the youngest of 11, born to the late Archie F. and Arah Elizabeth (Everson) Harris. A devoted husband of 66 years. A faithful and loving example to his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, extensive family and friends.
He worked at J&L Steel/LTV welded tube and continued as a laborer well into retirement. He attended the Christ Alliance Church as an Elder and Missionary Treasurer for many years. He had an old country sense of humor, appreciation of country and gospel music, particularly with banjos and fiddles, a talented gardner and all around handyman, always willing to lend a hand.
He was preceded in death by his siblings; Eathel, Edna, Nona, Zelpha, Lauda, James, Gayle, Jack, Ruth, Bob, as well as two children; Susan (Sambol) and Randall Harris.
He is survived by his wife Billie Louise (Buchanan), two daughters; Angela (Donnie) Caplinger of Monaca, Pa., and Amy (Anthony) Falcon of Pittsburgh, Pa., three grandchildren; Danielle Caplinger of Monaca, Pa., Derek Caplinger of Rochester, Pa., and Winter Falcon of Pittsburgh, Pa., two great grandchildren; Madisyn Michelle and Leland Russell Harris Caplinger, as well as in-laws, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends
Friends will be received on Sunday from 1pm to 4pm in Darroch Cremation and Funeral Tributes, Inc. 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa www.darrochfuneralhome.com where a Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 11am with Pastor Darryl Reed officiating.
Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
