Daniel Rubottom, Jr., 41, passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on Friday, January 31, 2025. Most affectionately known by his family as “Butch”, he was born on April 2, 1983 in Beaver, PA. Kristi McKeehen was the love of his life – together they made a home where they loved their sweet dog, Cash, and their two cats, Buzzy and Kitty. He was the beloved son to Dan and Diane Rubottom and the best brother to Melissa (Mike) Meyer and Tracy Rubottom. He shared a very special bond with his loving aunt and uncle, Kathy and Dan Losco. He was the grandson to Jane Malloy, the fun Uncle B to his nephew and niece, Pierce and Lily Meyer, and the life of the party when he was with all his cousins. Although he grew up with sisters, he had no shortage of “brothers”, especially Drew Murphy and Venki Prabhu who I’m sure could tell you a story or two about his antics.
Dan was a 2001 graduate of Hopewell High School and attended the University of Pittsburgh, where he graduated with a degree in finance in 2005. He was a Manager of Product Information at The Pittsburgh Paints Company (PPG), and he dedicated a lot of his time to the B.F. Jones Memorial Library in Aliquippa, where he served as the treasurer for the library board.
Dan had a passion for building and riding motorcycles and hunting. In his spare time, you could find him at his aunt and uncle’s camp in Tionesta, where he enjoyed relaxing around the campfire with family, hunting in the woods, and just enjoying the outdoors. He had a distinctive and easy laugh that all his family and friends will dearly miss. He loved life and the many friends and family in it, too many to name, and his loss to this world is indescribable. To know him was to love him.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 4pm to 7:30pm at Darroch Cremation and Funeral Tributes, Inc., 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa. www.darrochfuneralhome.com. A celebration of life service will begin at 7:30pm that evening to help us celebrate the amazing person Dan was. In lieu of flowers, the family would like any donations to made to the B.F. Jones Memorial Library in Aliquippa in Dan’s honor.
