Clement Paul Tierney

Paul Tierney, age 88, of Crescent Township PA, passed away peacefully on Monday August 9, 2021. Our beloved father, brother, grandpap, and great- grandpap is now with our heavenly father.

Paul was a lifelong resident of Crescent Township PA and member of Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.   Paul was a US Army veteran during the Korean War and a proud steelworker at J&L Steel in Aliquippa PA for 30+years. He served on the boards of St Catherine’s Church, and Crescent Township Parks and Recreation.  Paul coached Moon Area youth softball and football teams.  He loved to read especially Louis Lamour books and attend Bible Study class.  But by far, Paul’s greatest pride and joy was his family.

Paul was the husband of the late LaVerne (Tokarczyk) Tierney; beloved father of Kathleen (Russ) Nawrocki, Colleen (Scott) Hersperger, Eric (Sheila)Tierney, Maureen (Donald) Cox and Arleen Tierney;  adored grandfather of Terry Nawrocki, Elicia (James) Dowdell, Kayla Hersperger, Tyler (Alexandra) Hersperger, Samantha (Steve)Zubach, Erica (Dan) Snyder, Ryan Cox, Amelia Mateer, Alexis Mateer, Jake Mateer and Jarrett Mateer; great grandfather of James and Harper Dowdell, Tierney Hersperger, Archer and Brooks Snyder and Wesley Zuback; brother of Margaret Marnhout and Terry Tierney. 

Friends and family will be received on Friday, August 13, 2021 from 4pm to 8pm in Darroch Cremation and Funeral Tributes, Inc., 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa (www.darrochfuneralhome.com) where prayers will be offered on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 9 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Catherine of Siena Church in Wireton, PA. Interment to follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hopewell Township.
