Anna Sarah (Cino) Yakupkovic, of Hopewell Twp., passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024.
She was born in Aliquippa, a daughter of the late Francesco and Mary Frances (Ianuzzi) Cino. She grew up in West Aliquippa, graduated from Aliquippa High School and she attended Geneva College and Duquesne University. She was a member of Mary, Queen of Saints Parish-Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church where she was a member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers. She was also a member of the St. Anthony Congregation in West Aliquippa.
She had been employed as a secretary by U.S. Steel Homes Division and Hagan Chemicals and Controls in the electronics research lab. She spent time as an elementary school and Sunday school teacher. Later, after working for the State Employment Office, she was employed by the 911 Airlift Wing, Air Force Reserve Base, retiring from there with nineteen years of service.
Surviving are members of her loving family: a son Richard S. Yakupkovic, Jr. and daughter-in-law Colleen and grandsons Nathan and David; a daughter, Francine G. Vollmer and son-in-law Mark and grandson Luke. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard S. Yakupkovic, Sr.; an infant son, Joseph Yakupkovic; a sister, Rose K. Russo; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Rose Cino; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John and Josie Yakupkovic; and John and MaryAnn Koren; two nephews, Frank Cino and John Koren.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Pines of Mt. Lebanon and Gateway Hospice for their loving care.
Friends will be received on Thursday, October 24, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm in Darroch Cremation and Funeral Tributes, Inc., 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa www.darrochfuneralhome.com where prayers will be offered on Friday, October 25 at 9:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am. in Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
Entombment will follow in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
