John, Steve, Carol and families. Our sincere condolences on your father’s passing. He was a good patriot and uncle. Some of my fondest memories of the Fortney farm include times when ‘Uncle Bill’ would stop by. He had a unique way to make every child feel special by something he did or said. His sense of humor was enjoyed by all. His lighthearted and personal comments were a great comfort to me at my mom’s funeral. He stated that the many great memories I had of her would allow me to move on and would keep her in my heart forever. It was hard to believe at the time but he was right and I am sure it will work for you over time. I can now picture your dad, without pain, sitting at a big wooden kitchen table with your mom and the Fortney clan enjoying a cool drink and each other’s company. May he rest in peace and may his memories fill your hearts.

My dear uncles family,
He was such a good person, and remember sitting on his lap when I was young.
Such a precious member of our family. Gone to be with those he loved who went before him. We will miss him but will always feel his love.
One special memory is when our father left us Uncle Bill took my mother to town to get us kids shoes.

Dad will forever be in our hearts. He was the perfect father. Us kids always had a roof over our heads and food to eat. Dad only caused me one problem in life, that was leaving a pair of shoes that no one could fill

We are very sad, and send you all our deepest sympathy for the loss of your dear father. Mr. Fortney was a wonderful, kind and warm man, and we will treasure all the memories from the times spent with him. Carol, I shall always remember your father's kindness to me in our school years, and his prize tomato he gave me when I visited. You are all in our prayers, and your dad will always be in our hearts.

To John, Steve, Carol and families. We were all blessed to shared life with your father. He always made visitors feel special, even in his last days. Even through his many challenges recently, he still had the smile and especially the laugh and tears of happiness. No more challenges for him and the other memories will remain with us forever.
