Robert L. Hitt

Robert L. Hitt, 78, of South Heights passed away peacefully on Friday, May 19, 2017 in his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on June 13, 1938 in Glenwillard, PA a son of the late Charles and Helen Hitt and he was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.  Robert retired from LTV Steel Corp. where he worked as an electrician in the Tin Mill.  He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack, Ed, and Dick Hitt; and two sisters, Grace Karas, and Dorothy Weisner.

He is survived by his wife, Ardith (Ballard) Hitt; five children, Gerald Lee Hitt and his wife Kim; Bobbi Mercadante; Kelly Hitt and his wife Therese; Michele Biggs; and Patrick Hitt and his wife Nicole; eight grandchildren, Jenna; Melissa; Heather; Jason; Mackenzie; Abigail; Emily; and Kadie; a brother, James Hitt and his wife Dolores; and a sister, Lois Smith and her husband Bob.

Friends will be received on Monday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm in the Darroch Memorial Chapel, 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa www.darrochfuneralhome.com where a Blessing Service will be held on Tuesday at 10am.

Entombment will follow in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
