Mrs. Nellie “Mae” Ebel, 92, of Aliquippa, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Thursday, August 1, 2019.
She was born on March 29, 1927 in Sewickley, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Thelma Nimmons. She was a member of St. Titus Catholic Church where she was also a member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers. Nellie was also a dedicated volunteer making pierogis for St. Titus and many know that she made the best Lady Locks in Aliquippa. She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and devoted friend to all.
In addition to her parents, Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Ebel; and a brother, Tommy Nimmons.
Nellie is survived by six children, George (Jacqui) Ebel, Jr., Monaca, PA; Kenny Ebel, Freedom, PA; Cathy Ebel, Bridgeville, PA; James (Cara) Ebel, Lebanon, OH; Beth (Craig) Owens, Franklin, TN; and Patrick Ebel, Aliquippa, PA; nine grandchildren, Shawn (Christy) Ebel, Bear, DE; Kenny Ebel, Jr., Wexford, PA; Kelly (Dan) Green, Monaca, PA; Brad (Trish) Ebel, Framingham, MA; David Ebel; Michael Ebel; Patrick Ebel; Mark Ebel, all of Lebanon, OH; Rebecca Owens, Chattanooga, TN; Seven great grandchildren, Amelia; Cydney; Charlotte and Max Ebel; Olivia and Jordin Green; and Noah Ebel; and a beloved brother-in-law, Robert Ebel.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 1pm to 5pm in Darroch Cremation and Funeral Tributes, Inc., 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa www.darrochfuneralhome.com where prayers will be offered on Monday at 11am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am in St. Titus Catholic Church.
Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
The St. Titus Confraternity of Christian Mothers will recite a rosary in the funeral home on Sunday at 12:45pm.
