Mary Jane Verbe

Mary Jane Verbe, 75, of Center Twp., passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 19th, 2017.

Born on July 25th, 1941, the daughter of the late James and Margaret (O’Connor) Hammel, She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Mary attended Annunciation Grade School, Mt. Assisi Academy, and a graduate of Geneva College. She married William Verbe in 1968 and would have been celebrating 49 years of marriage this November. Her catholic faith was the center of her life as she was called into the ministry of service in 1986 and devoted the rest of her life to helping the poor and disadvantaged in Beaver County. She started out as the Parish Social Minister at. St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church and then went on to be the founder and director on a non-profit organization called CAST (Churches Are Serving Together). Its sole purpose was to help those less fortunate in Beaver County. She was celebrating 25 years of dedicated service this year.

Mary is survived by her husband, William Verbe; two children; son, Kevin Verbe of Florence, SC, and daughter, Laura (Rodney) Ross of Lower Burrell, PA; two sisters, Carol (William) Mechler of Lenexa, KS and Janice (John) Mahon of Cheraw SC, along with two nieces and three nephews.

Friends will be received on Friday April 21, 2017 from 2p-4p and 6p-8p in the Darroch Memorial Chapel Inc., 2640 Mill Street,Aliquippa PA 15001, www.darrochfuneralhome.com where closing prayers will be offered on Saturday April 22,2017 at 11:00am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am in Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.

Internment to follow in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
