Jean Shomsky

Jean Shomsky, 86, of Monaca, Pa, passed away on Friday July 21, 2017 in Rochester Manor in Rochester, PA.

She was born August 9, 1931 in Buffalo, NY,  a daughter of the late Arthur and Aleta (Willard) Davidson.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, George Shomsky.

Jean was an avid gardener and she loved flowers.  She had a youthful disposition and she was a friend to everyone.  Even at 86 years old,  she enjoyed connecting with friends and family on social media and she was technologically advanced for her age and she loved playing games on computers and other electronic devices.

She is survived by her children, Kathy Dayeen and her husband Steve; Karen Harmon and her husband Jerry; George Shomsky and his wife Karen; Edward Shomsky; Richard Shomsky, and Mary Jean Schwarz and her husband Keith; and eight grandchildren, including great grandchildren.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm in the Darroch Memorial Chapel, 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa www.darrochfuneralhome.com where Panachida will be held on Wednesday at 10am followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 10:30am in St. George Byzantine Catholic Church.

Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Parastas will be held on Tuesday evening at 7pm in the Funeral Home.
