Cremation Service with Viewing

Cremation is a form of disposition selected by less than 30% of our families. Due to the smaller percentage of families who choose cremation, we have found that the majority are unaware of the options and find that after a quick review of the choices, 70% of cremation families choose to have some type of visitation/gathering/service to accompany this form of disposition.

As with any loss, one of the early stages of the grief cycle is denial. Actually seeing the person who has died allows people to accept the fact that a death has occurred. Often times, the few final hours prior to death are difficult and a persons’ appearance may be reflective of pain, agony and struggle. Seeing that loved one peacefully at rest can be comforting and more important a step toward recovery.

We often hear people say “I told my wife/husband/children, just cremate me and that’s it. I don’t want all that fanfare”. Truth be known, this unselfish statement is meant by most, to spare the family grief, trauma, and money. In all actuality if you asked anyone who recently has experienced a death and had a visitation/gathering/service, they will acknowledge that “funerals are for those left behind”, as the deceased is now out of pain and hopefully in a much better place. This does not mean you need an elaborate or lengthy funeral. People need a safe/secure place to express their sympathy. Further, families more than anything need to experience this in order to make a healthy transition to living without their loved one while honoring them one last time.

With these thoughts in mind we have created 4 Traditional Tribute Offerings that can easily be adapted to satisfy anyone’s needs.

Whether your concern is price, service or both we will have something to meet your needs and if we don’t we will create it. Please take a few minutes to review our Traditional Cremation Tribute Offerings below. For other Cremation options please see our Contemporary Cremation Offerings.

For most families, burial is the preferred method of disposition with over 70% of the population opting for one of our Traditional Burial offerings. Public funerals often have the person who has died present for family and friends to view. Private funerals have the deceased person for family only. One of the early stages of the grief cycle is denial. Actually seeing the person who has died aids in accepting the fact that a death has occurred. Often times, the few final hours prior to death are difficult and a persons’ appearance may be reflective of pain, agony and struggle. Seeing that loved one peacefully at rest can be comforting.

Others simply need an appropriate venue in which to grieve and to say “good-bye”. Funerals allow all of this to happen. When a personal touch is added to the funeral service such as a well-worded eulogy from a lifelong friend or a number of other personalized tributes, a funeral becomes an event where people can come together to offer and receive comfort. A well planned, personalized and unique tribute to a loved one’s life will cause you to remember, reflect, cry, and even laugh. In the end, the funeral will fulfill its original purpose; to honor a life lived and begin the healing process for those left to live on.
