Raymond “Ray” Yurkowski, 69, of Hopewell Twp., passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021 after a brief unexpected illness and a battle with cancer.
He was born on March 28, 1952 in McKees Rocks, PA, a son of the late Andrew and Florence Yurkowski. Ray graduated from Sto-Rox High School, and he worked at RB&W in Coraopolis, All-American Bowling in Moon Twp., and recently, at Home Depot in Robinson. He enjoyed bowling, golf, and his Pittsburgh Penguins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his cat, Sarah.
He is survived by his loving wife, Monica Yurkowski; his beloved daughter, Joyce (Jamie) Amedure; his brothers, John Yurkowski; Michael (Pat) Yurkowski; sister, Andrea “Annie” Roberts; step-son, Ian (Lesa) Parker; and his cherished grandchildren, Tyler and Katelyn Amedure, and Clifton, Weston and Leyton Parker, who knew him as “Pap Pap”; uncle to Michele Dionne and Tamara (Jeffrey) Kuykendall. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Marjorie Meehan, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in Darroch Cremation and Funeral Tributes, Inc., 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa (www.darrochfuneralhome.com) where departing prayers will be offered on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
