Clara Duganich

Clara Duganich, age 89, of Raccoon Twp., passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.

She was born on May 15, 1933 in Aliquippa, a daughter of the late Matthew and Anna (Glad) Luketic.  She was one of 18 children raised on the family farm.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Steve R. Duganich; her brothers, Thomas; Andrew; Matthew; Daniel; Steve; Bob; William; and Arthur; and her sisters, Mary Druzak; Evelyn Aitken; Theresa Gaiauskis; Kathryn Spolanich; and Ann Morrow.

Surviving are her 4 children, Stephen (Paty Kruel) Duganich; Matthew Duganich; James Duganich; and Cynthia (Steve) Hovanec; three grandchildren, Stephen (Jessica) Hovanec; Nicholas (Maggie) Hovanec; Kelsey (Derek) Meuser and her great grandchild, Joseph Hovanec.  Also surviving are her beloved sisters, Darlene Connin of Spotsylvania, VA; Eleanor Luketic of Palm Harbor, FL; and Carol Hineman of Land O Lakes, FL; and a sister-in-law, Josephine Maruhnich and numerous nieces and nephews.

Clara was a member of St. Titus Church and a former employee of Aliquippa Hospital where she worked as a cook.  She was the kitchen manager at the Aliquippa Croatian Center for many years.  Clara owned and operated alongside her husband Steve for 35 years, Duganich Apple Orchard and she was a member of CFU Lodge 720.  Clara was the president of the PTA and she was involved in numerous other organizations throughout the years.

Special thanks to the staff at the Concordia Villa St. Joseph in Baden where she was a resident and to the Good Samaritan Hospice of Beaver for their comfort and caring.

Friends will be received on Sunday from 4pm to 8pm in Darroch Cremation and Funeral Tributes, Inc., 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa www.darrochfuneralhome.com where a Blessing Service will be held on Monday at 10am.

Interment will follow in John Anderson Memorial Cemetery.
