Wanda J. Jones

Wanda J. Jones, 81, of El Paso, TX, formerly of Aliquippa, passed away on Saturday, April, 4, 2015 in White Acres Good Samaritan Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

Born June 13, 1933 in Frostburg, MD, a daughter of the late Harry and Evelyn Sperry, she was a member of St. Titus Roman Catholic Church in Aliquippa.  She also was a member of the Hopewell Ladies Auxiliary  Post 8805 and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 24, Frostburg, MD.  She also was an avid Aliquippa Quip, Steeler, and Pirate fan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Jones; four sisters; two brothers; a daughter-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and eight brothers-in-law.

She is survived by her children, two daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Rick Cowden, of Clinton, PA; Julie and John Dean, of El Paso, TX; one son and daughter-in-law, William R. Jones, Jr. and Drema Jones, of Lewisville, TX; two step-sons and one daughter-in-law, Steven and Doris Burgess of Newbern, NC; and Edward Brodwater, of Frostburg, MD; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and four step-great grandchildren.  Also surviving are four sisters-in-law, Madlyn Jones, of Aliquippa; Jaunita Peters of Michigan; Pat Jones, of Florida; and Ruth Stakhem of Maryland; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Conrad and Sandra Fletcher and Robert and Jackie Jones, all of Maryland.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and two special “grandchildren” Dan and Chris Michael of Center Twp.

Family and friends will be received on Friday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm in the Darroch Memorial Chapel, 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa www.darrochfuneralhome.com where prayers will be offered on Saturday at 9am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Titus Catholic Church.

Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
