Wallis “Wally” W. Davis,89, of Hopewell TWP.,passed away Wednesday,August 5,2015, at his home surrounded by family after and extended illness.
Born in South Heights on December 25, 1925, he was the son of the late John and Jenny Davis. He is preceded in death by his sisters Janet Christy (Joe), Ruth Marrow (Bill) and Betty Reinard(Bob).
Wallis was a WWII veteran who served with the 233rd Combat Engineers in the Philippines. He was also employed at the Mazzaro coal mine and eventually retired from LTV Steel in 1983.
Known as 'Pops' by close family and friends, he was an amazing husband,father,grandfather and great-grandfather and was loved by so many for his kindness and sense of humor.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Dusa(D'Amico)Davis; two daughters Darleen Sullivan(Joe) and Arleen(Kathy) Smith(Chuck). He was the cherished grandfather of Robert(Bobby) Propst(Laura),Samantha Smith(Bob Kitchen),Jason Propst and Charles(Chuck) W. Smith IV. He was also the beloved great-grandfather to Elise,Angelina,Eli and Hailee.
