Steve R. DuganichJuly 17, 1923 ~ November 3, 2017 (age 94)
Steve R. Duganich, 94, of Raccoon Twp., passed away in his home on Friday, November 3, 2017.
He was born on July 17, 1923 in Aliquippa, a son of the late Steve and Katherine (Krizancic) Duganich. He was a member of St. Titus Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. Steve graduated from Aliquippa High School and Masonry Trade School. He was a self-employed brick layer for 52 years working along with his brother, Michael “Ike” Duganich at Duganich Brothers Masonry. He also owned and operated Duganich Apple Orchard for 35 years. He was a member of CFU Lodge 720, He was an avid hunter and enjoyed hunting in Miller Run, Hunters Hollow, and Johnson Run with his brother Ike and his friends from Camp Aliquippa. Steve also served in the U.S. Army in WWII.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Anne Kashiwsky, and Katherine Zychowski; and a brother, Michael Duganich.
Steve is survived by his wife of 63 years, Clara E. (Luketic) Duganich, four chidren, Stephen (Paty Kruel) Duganich; Matthew Duganich; Cynthia (Steve) Hovanec; and James Duganich; and three grandchildren, Stephen (Jessica Doris) Hovanec; Nicholas Hovanec; and Kelsey Hovanec and her fiancé Derek Meuser.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 1pm to 6pm in Darroch Cremation and Funeral Tributes, Inc., 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa www.darrochfuneralhome.com where a Blessing Service will be held on Monday at 11am. The St. Titus Holy Name Society will recite a rosary at 5:30pm on Sunday in the funeral home.
Interment will follow in John Anderson Memorial Cemetery, Raccoon Twp.
The Beaver County Special Unit will meet at the funeral home on Monday at 11am to conduct full military honors.
