Sharon F. Dupree

Sharon F. Dupree, 70, of Center Twp., passed away peacefully on Friday March 18, 2016 in West Penn Hospice.

She was born on January 4, 1946 in Ironton, OH, a daughter of the late Theodore and Elva (Thacker) Fields and she attended the First Baptist Church in Rochester.  As a young lady, Sharon worked in the medical records office of the Lawrence County General Hospital in Ironton.  After moving to Center Twp., she worked as a local office manager for State Representative Nick Colafella for many years.  Sharon was very active in politics.  She was a democratic committee woman and she served as a judge of elections in Center Twp. She was also active with Center Civics Women’s Club and she worked as an administrative assistant for several banks.  Sharon was an avid bingo player and enjoyed going to bingo at St. Frances Cabrini and Center Stage.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Fields, and Thomas Fields; and two sisters, Beatrice Jones, and Eva Fields.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Richard R. Dupree, whom she married on September 10, 1966; three sons, Michael R. Dupree and his wife Karen, of Irwin, PA; David A. Dupree, San Antonio, TX; and Stephen J. Dupree and his wife Christina, Hopewell Twp. PA; a daughter, Shelley Dupree, Center Twp.; 13 grandchildren - Nickolas, Dennis, Brayden, Kaylee, and Kyle; Andrew, Ashley, and Teresa; Joseph, Richard, Thomas, and Kathryn; and Brandon; and two sisters, Joanne Jenkins, Denver CO; and Joyce Gates, Ironton, OH.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends, and her Sherwood Drive Circle of Friends.

Friends will be received on Monday from 6-8pm and on Tuesday from 2pm until the time of funeral service at 3:30pm in the Darroch Memorial Chapel, 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa www.darrochfuneralhome.com

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorial donations to be made to the First Baptist Church, 301 Adams Street, Rochester, PA 15074.
