Sela Palmieri

October 31, 1930 ~ January 8, 2017 (age 86) 86 Years Old

Sela Palmieri, 86, of Hopewell Twp., passed away and entered the paradise of God on Sunday, January 8, 2017.

He was born on October 31, 1930 in West Aliquippa, a son of the late Antonio and Carmella (Colafella) Palmieri and he was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ, where he was an ordained teacher, a member of the Men’s Bible Class, MBA, and Sunday School.  He retired from J&L Steel Corp. where he worked in the Tin Mill, and he served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War.  Sela was commander of the DAV Chapter 107, and he enjoyed art displays and he was an avid painter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah (D’Antonio) Palmieri; a brother and sister-in-law, Ben and Judy Palmieri; a sister, Philomena DeLuca; Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dan and Mary Tamburrino; Jim and Joan Gibson; Charles and Ruth Jumper; Michael Ondik; and Ed and Betty Eiler.

Sela is survived by two sons, Richard Palmieri and his wife Dolly, Hopewell Twp.; and Mark Palmieri and his wife Rilla, Sterling Heights, MI; two daughters, Donna Bogle and her husband Joseph, Monaca; and Barbara Andruccioli and her husband David, Rochester, MI; a brother, Paul Palmieri and his wife Eleanor, Hopewell Twp.; a brother-in-law, David DeLuca, Hopewell Twp.; a sister-in-law, Eva Ondik, Hopewell Twp.; seven grandchildren, Domenic Palmieri and his wife Melanie; Jennifer Palmieri; Dante Palmieri; Juliet Bogle; Jacob Bogle; Giana Palmieri and Antonio Palmieri. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses and staff at Beaver Elder Care for their warm and compassionate care.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm in the Darroch Memorial Chapel, 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa www.darrochfuneralhome .com. and on Wednesday from 10am until the time of funeral service at 11am in The Church of Jesus Christ, Aliquippa.

Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

The Beaver County Special Unit will meet at Woodlawn Cemetery on Wednesday at 11:30am to conduct full military honors.
