Sally L. (Short) Gennaro

Sally L. (Short) Gennaro, 82, of Hopewell Twp., passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2015.

She was born on January 29, 1933 in Aliquippa, a daughter of the late William Clyde and Luella (Peoples) Short and she retired from Gimbels where she worked for many years in the men’s suit department.  Sally was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, especially the Pittsburgh Pirates.

In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony C. Gennaro; a son, David Anthony Gennaro; three brothers, Jay Short; William C. Short; and Paul Short; and two sisters, Sandra Hook; and Marie Buttermore.

She is survived by two sons, John “Jack” Gennaro and his wife Diane, La Porte, IN; and William C. Gennaro and his wife Colleen, Industry, PA; two daughters, Barbara Lolly, Hopewell Twp.; and Darlene Yoho and her husband Elden, Raccoon Twp.; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a brother, Donald F. Short, Aliquippa; a sister, Martha “Honey” Short, Aliquippa; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Daniel and Sally Gennaro, Irwin, PA.  She is also survived by numerousl nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4pmand 6-8pm in the Darroch Memorial Chapel, 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa www.darrochfuneralhome.com where a funeral service will be held on Friday at 10am.

Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
