John R. Davie

John R. Davie, 84, of Hopewell Twp., Pennsylvania went home to be with the Lord on July 31, 2016 at his residence

He was born on July 04, 1932 in Hopewell Twp., PA and the son of the late William McKinley and Marie (Steuer) Davie. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, graduated from Aliquippa High School in 1950, and raised chickens. John was drafted to the U.S. Army in 1953, then continued working throughout his life at Vulcan, St. Joe Zinc, and Horsehead Industries as an engineering assistant. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, driving his tractor, traveling to different countries, as well as visiting almost all 50 US states, square dancing and playing cards.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, William Davie; a sister, Marie Pauline Muller; and his former wife, Kathryn Connelly.

He is survived by his wife  Marilyn Rohrer Davie; three sons, Robert ( Kathy) and Paul of Nevada, and Jack (Lynn)  of California; a daughter, Patricia of Oklahoma; a step-daughter, Kathleen; four grandsons, Kyle , Cory, Jesse, and Travis; a sister, Margaret Zakrajsek; a sister-in-law, Lois Davie; and numerous nieces and nephews, especially Anna Pierce and Fred Zakrajsek.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 11am to the time of service at 12pmin the Darroch Memorial Chapel, 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa www.darrochfuneralhome.com

The Beaver County Special Unit will meet on Thursday at the funeral home at 12pm to conduct full military honors.

Internment will follow in Columbiana Cemetery, Columbiana, Ohio
