Janet A. Maurer

Janet Ann (Blasius) Maurer, age 83, a Moon Township resident since 1960, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 11, 2016, after a lengthy illness.

 She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on September 10, 1933 to the late Rudolph and Rosella (Laslovic) Blasius, Stepfather -Joseph Hrovat. Beloved mother of Donald F. Maurer, Jr.  and Gary P. Maurer, both of Moon Township, Gregg J. (Karen) Maurer of Frankfort Springs, PA and Beth A. Maurer of Hopewell; cherished grandmother of Brandon, Kathleen (Matt) , Jessica (Jared), Caleb (Daria), Joshua, Jennifer and Gary; great grandmother of 4; sister of Joan (Harry) Sell of Ingram; former spouse of the late Donald F. Maurer. Janet’s whole life centered on her children and grandchildren.

Janet's great legacy to this world was her deep faith, kindness, compassion and unconditional love for all that knew her. She retired from Fred Polesky Erie Insurance Agency. She was a member of Service Creek Church.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4pm, and 6-8pm in the Darroch Memorial Chapel, 2640 Mill St., Aliquippa PA 15001, www.darrochfuneralhome.com. A Funeral Service will be held at Service Creek Church, 491 Service Church Rd., Aliquippa, PA 15001 on Friday at  10:00 a.m.  Rev. Tom Knowles will officiate.

Internment will follow in John Anderson Cemetery

In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in her name to Amedysis Hospice, 275 Meadowlands Blvd., Washington, PA 15301.
