James Edward Willy

James Edward Willy, 81, of Center Twp., passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017.

He was born on April 6, 1936 in Glenwillard, PA, a son of the late George and Rosemarie (Murphy) Willy.  James was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.  He served in the U.S. Army with the rank of Corporal; he retired from Bethlehem Steel Corporation and he worked for J&L Steel Corporation and Whemco Corporation.  He also worked part-time for Hertz Corporation.  He was a member of McKinley Stuckrath – Masonic Lodge #318, 32nd degree Scottish Rite, Pittsburgh Shriners, Islam Grotto, Beaver County Caravan #18, West Hills Caravan #25, and Masonic Veterans of Western, PA.  He previously served as a coach, manager, and board member for Center Township Youth Baseball.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by a sister, June Biggerstaff; and three brothers, John “Jack” Willy; George Merle Willy; and Donald Willy.

He is survived by his wife, Rose (Patrizi) Willy; a son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Kelly Willy; two grandchildren, Caylin and Jenna Rose Willy; and three sisters, Rose (Larry) Fadool; Celeste Cooper; and LaVerne Basalyga.

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 6-8pm and on Thursday from 4-8pm in Darroch Cremation and Funeral Tributes, Inc. 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa www.darrochfuneralhome.com where prayers will be offered on Friday at 9:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Frances Cabrini Church.

Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

The St. Frances Cabrini Parish will conduct a Vigil Service in the funeral home on Thursday at 3:45pm.

The Beaver County Special Unit will meet at Woodlawn Cemetery on Friday at 11:30am to conduct full military honors.
