Jack Bradford Staby

Jack Bradford Staby, 91, of Aliquippa, PA, formally of Little Meadows, PA, Amityville, NY, and Hicksville, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday August 19, 2017.

He was born on March 20, 1926 in Mineola, NY son of late Ernest John and Arlene Katherine (Kraemer) Staby.

Jack is survived by his wife Dorothy (Sheffield) Staby of 60 years; son John Bradford and his wife Carole (Mabry) Staby, of Coatesville, PA, and their daughter Marina Leigh Staby, of Chicago, IL; son Robert (Bob) Stanford and his wife Donna (Doverspike) Staby, and their sons 2LT Bradford Wade Staby, stationed in Germany and Scott McClelland Staby, a junior in Engineering at Youngstown Sate University and his daughter, Mary Katherine (Mary Kay (Staby)) and Clark Cunningham of Johnson City, Texas, who work in U.S. Embassies around the world, currently in Jordan.

Jack was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran. Jack graduated from Long Island University, CW Post in Manufacturing, in 1964. He worked for Republic Aviation, Farmingdale, NY for 18 ½ years and was a Cost Engineer for IBM, Endicott, NY for 26 years. Recognized by ‘Who’s Who in the East’, as a contributing author for ‘Tooling for Aircraft and Missile Manufacturing’. He was an active member of his community serving his Little Meadows Church, Little Meadows Fire Department, Montrose School Board, Little Meadows Borough Board, Boy Scouts of America, and many other community activities. He was a member of BPOE #1977, Endicott, NY. Jack continued an active life after retirement. He earned an Associate degree at Broome Community College in Business Management, in 2004, established a wood working business and earned a blue belt in karate under Master Hidy Ochiai of Vestal, NY. Jack had many hobbies which included stamp collecting, model boatbuilding, and painting seascapes and landscapes.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 4-6pm followed by a funeral service at 6pm in Darroch Cremation and Funeral Tributes, Inc., 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa www.darrochfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to local fire department of your choice.

Burial will be at National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
