Ida Montrucchio

Ida Montrucchio, 89, formerly of West Aliquippa, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 in Heritage Valley Sewickley.
She was born on February 23, 1925 in Glen Morrison, WV, a daughter of the late Romildo and Teresa (Testa) Martiner and she was a former member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in West Aliquippa. During WWII, Ida and her family relocated back to Torino, Italy. Not wanting to give up her American Citizenship, Ida returned to the United States in June of 1957 with her two daughters. Within three years she purchased her own business, Ida's Cleaners. She was also the contract postmaster for the West Aliquippa Post Office. Throughout her life and many accomplishments, Ida became a hero to her daughters. She will be dearly missed by all who have known her.
In addition to her parents, Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Aldo Montruccio; a grandson, Matthew Grossi; and a sister, Adelina Zoppetti.
She is survived by two daughters, Maria Teresa Grossi and her husband John, Crestview, FL; and Daniela Foertsch and her husband William, Clinton, PA; five grandchildren, Teresa; Daniel; Cristina; Melissa; and Jessica; two great-grandchildren, Gabriella, and Isabella; and two great-grandchildren on the way, Aubrey Cristina, due in February; and another due in May; and a sister, Thelma Scavino, Torino, Italy. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather today at 2:30pm in the Chapel at Woodlawn Cemetery for a Blessing Service conducted by Father Paul Householder.
