Gordon M. Young

Gordon M. Young, 70, of Aliquippa, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2015.

He was born on March 14, 1944 in Canonsburg, PA,  a son of Verna (Cornell) Young and the late Michael Young and he was a former member of St. Titus Catholic Church.  Gordon retired from LTV Steelworks and from the TSA at the Pittsburgh International Airport.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and he was an Aliquippa Youth Baseball Coach for many years.

In addition to his mother, Gordon is survived by his loving wife, Doris (Frederick) Young, Aliquippa; his loving children, Jodi Oxendine (Terry), New Brighton; Tracy Simmel (Klint), Holt, MI; Beth Lentini (Sam), New Waterford, OH; Amy Young (Roberto), Aliquippa; and Scott Young (Christina), Aliquippa; 10 loving grandchildren who meant the world to him, Cassie and Shane Oxendine; Kennedy and Karley Simmel; Sydney and Sophia Lentini; Marysa Young; Avalynn Spears; Alexa and Ian Young; an uncle,  Vince Zaccaria (Nancy); an aunt, Bessie Block; a special cousin, William Dillon; a brother-in-law, Robert Frederick; and two sisters-in-law, Arlene Ciccone; and Karen Temple.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Sunday from 1:00pm to 6:00pm in the Darroch Memorial Chapel, 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa www.darrochfuneralhome.com where a funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:30am.

Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
