Emma Persi

Emma Persi, 88, of Hopewell Twp., formerly of Center Twp., passed away on Monday, June 8, 2015.

She was born on June 19, 1926 in Unity, PA a daughter of the late Paul and Marianna (DiCosmo) Palombini and she was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.  She was a member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers, C.D. of A. Court Woodlawn, and Queens of Columbus Council #24.  Emma was also a CCD teacher at Our Lady of Fatima.  She worked for Montgomery Ward, Speigels Department Store, and she retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare.

In addition to her parents, Emma was preceded in death by her husband,  John P. Persi; and a brother, Peter Palombini.

She is survived by two sons, John G. Persi and his wife Josephine (Pelino) Persi, of Hopewell Twp.; and Peter Persi and his wife Lori (Dicosmo) Persi, of Savannah, GA; two grandchildren, Joshua and Lindsey Persi; a sister, Felicia Persi, of California; and a sister-in-law, Marlene Persi.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and many cousins, and dear friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. Moses Raj and staff, Dr. Emil Ros and staff, Greg and the staff at Celtic Hospice, the staff at Good Samaritan Hospice, and all the friends and relatives for their kind and compassionate care they provided for Emma.

Friends will be received on Friday from 3pm to 8pm in the Darroch Memorial Chapel, 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa www.darrochfuneralhome.com where prayers will be offered on Saturday at 9:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.

Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
