Dominic "Dom" Peters

Dominic “Dom” Peters, 83, of Hopewell Twp., passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 in Rochester Manor.

He was born on July 7, 1933 in Pittsburgh, PA a son of the late Frank and Concetta (Cecchillo) Peters and he was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.  Dom was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy and and he worked as a pharmacist at Thrift Drug in Aliquippa and Baden for over 43 years.  He as a member of the Aliquippa Lion’s Club and he served on the Hopewell Area School Board as well as the Hopewell Zoning Commission and the Hopewell Planning Commission.  Dom enjoyed vacationing in Florida, playing the drums, fishing, and watching sports.  He loved doing things for others while expecting nothing  in return.  He was a loving husband, father, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Perugini and her husband Gino; and a brother-in-law, Guy DiPaola; and a special nephew, Theodore “Ted” Pajak.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Rosemarie “Roe” (Sundy) Peters, Hopewell Twp.; a daughter, Lorchid Peters and her dear friend, Bill Hochevar, Beaver; two sisters, Phyllis Ackner and her husband Walter, Bridgewater, New Jersey; and Anna DiPaola, Bellevue, PA; three great nephews, Teddy, Tyler, and Troy Pajak; as well as numerous additional nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm in the Darroch Memorial Chapel, 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa www.darrochfuneralhome.com where prayers will be offered on Saturday at 9:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.

Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.

The Hopewell Twp. Lions Club will conduct a service on Friday at 7:30pm in the Funeral Home.
