Charlotte Virginia (Keller) Ditka

March 25, 1921 ~ March 4, 2015 (age 93) 93 Years Old

Charlotte Virginia Keller Ditka, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, departed this life on  Wednesday, March 4, 2015 to be with her Lord and Savior. Charlotte was born March 25th, 1921 in Carnegie Pennsylvania daughter of the late David P. Keller and Myrtle Ashton.  Charlotte moved to Aliquippa in 1941 and has been a resident of Linmar Homes since.  She has served on the board at Linmar homes replacing her husband Mike upon his death in 1998.

Charlotte attended St. Titus Catholic Church since the time she moved to Aliquippa. She has devoted her time in service to the church on the kitchen crew for many years in addition to being one of the founding members of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers and was honored as May Queen of the organization.

Surviving Charlotte are three sons and two daughter-in-laws, Michael and Diana Ditka of Chicago, Illinois, Ashton and Linda Ditka of Warren, Pennsylvania and David Ditka of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, one daughter Mary Ann and Bill Stowe of Garland, Texas, ten grandchildren and fifteen  great grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Irene Keller of Virginia and one sister and brother in law Mary and Bill Solomon of Maryland.

In addition to her parents and husband Mike, Charlotte was preceded in death by sisters, Myrtle Ellen, Jenny Annette, Ella May and Eula McGuire, and three brothers Charles, David and Ashton Keller.

Charlotte loved playing cards, going to the casino, repeating jokes from her daughter in law Diana and having a good time.  She will be remembered for her wit and humor, her loyal spirit, her feisty attitude, her generous nature by her friends and her loving and tender heart , her faith and her many prayers for all of  her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Charlotte’s favorite saying when ask how she was always, “can’t complain, I’m going to live till I die!” and she did live her life to the fullest, bringing joy to all that knew and loved her.

Her family would like  to thank the staff of Beaver Meadows and Heartland Hospice for their kindness and compassionate care  provided to Charlotte.  We will be forever grateful.

Friends will be received on Sunday from 1pm to 6pm in the Darroch Memorial Chapel, 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa www.darrochfuneralhome.com where prayers will be offered on Monday at 9am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Titus Catholic Church.

Entombment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
