Catherine (Dunphy) Kanfoush

Catherine (Dunphy)  Kanfoush, 90, of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, passed away on Sunday May 8, 2016 in Heritage Valley Sewickley.

She was born on October 29, 1925 in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Sullivan) Dunphy, and was a member of the St. Titus Catholic Church, as well as the Confraternity of Christian Mothers. She was a retired employee of the Aliquippa School District.

In addition to her parents, Catherine is preceded in death by her husband; Kenneth Kanfoush Sr.; three sisters; Margaret Evanko, Madeline Demarco, Helen Dunphy; and a brother; James Dunphy.

She is survived by a daughter; Maureen Kanfoush of Aliquippa, Pa; two sons; Henry Kanfoush of Aliquippa, Pa, and Kenneth Kanfoush of Seattle, WA; a sister-in-law; Philomena Kanfoush; and many nieces and nephews.

Catherine’s family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the nurses in the Critical Care Unit at Heritage Valley Sewickley.

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 pm and 6-8pm in the Darroch Memorial Chapel, 2640 Mill Street., Aliquippa Pa. 15001 www.darrochfuneralhome.com  where prayers will be offered on Thursday at 9 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Titus Catholic Church at 9:30 am.

Internment will follow in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
