Carol Lynn Jumper, 52, of Hopewell Twp., passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2015.

She was born on February 11, 1963 in Aliquippa Hospital, a daughter of the late Charles and Ruth Elaine (D’Antonio) Jumper and she was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ, where she enjoyed playing the piano and singing in the choir.  Carol graduated from Hopewell High School in 1981 and she was  Senior Class President.  Famed for her authentic spaghetti sauce and renowned for her love of children.  Carol, every Easter would bake over 60 loaves of Easter Bread for family and friends.  She was employed part-time by Darroch Memorial Chapel for over 15 years.  Darroch Memorial Chapel and staff showered her with support during her illness, even moving the Christmas dinner to a week that she did not have Chemo so she could be there.  She was also employed as an administrative assistant by a local dental office.  The staff of the dental office was very supportive of Carol.

She is survived by her fiancé, Dennis J. “Odie” Smerigan, whom she planned to marry on October 17, 2015; a brother, Bruce (Marty) Jumper; sisters, Joyceann Jumper (w/ Dennis Kaminsky); and Rhoda  L. (Erik) Miller; and her beloved nephew, William C.D. Miller.  She is also survived by aunts, Janet Gula; Rosemarie (Terry) Stoops; and Eva Ondik; and uncles, Kenneth Jumper; Edward M. Eiler; and Sela Palmieri.

She held the title Aunt Cissy to many honorary nieces and nephews.  Carol lived at the same address and phone number all her days.  She had a love for travel and attended many of her church’s conferences and camps.  She gave her life to Christ on June 11, 1980 and was baptized by Elder Paul Palmieri.  Carol loved new clothes and shoes… as a child she would insist on wearing her new shoes home.  She loved baby and bridal showers.  She had a social calendar that no-one can imagine.  She was followed on Bumper’s Buddies by over 3,000 followers who, when she needed support the most, came through for her.  If we had to name her friends there would be no end to the list.  God blessed her with a voice of an angel and now she is one of them.  In honor of Carol, we ask that all flowers be purple, her favorite color.  We also ask that you please wear purple to her funeral.  Also if you are a bumper, your bumper’s buddies shirt.
