Andrew Zapotocky

Andrew Zapotocky, 94, of West Aliquippa, passed away on Sunday October 2, 2016.

He was born on September 26, 1922 in Brownsville, PA a son of the late John and Mary (Harvan) Zapotocky and he was a member of St. George Byzantine Catholic Church. He served as a military policeman in the U.S. Army Aircorps  in WWII where he earned the Asiatic Pacific Theatre Ribbon with one bronze star.  He also retired from American Bridge where he worked as a machinist.

In addition to his parents, Andrew was preceded in death by his siblings, Ann Smisko; John Zapotocky; Mike Zapotocky; Mary Fatur; Katherine Korode; Steve Zapotocky; and Elizabeth Surgalski.

He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm in the Darroch Memorial Chapel, 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa www.darrochfuneralhome.com where a Panachida will conducted on Friday at 9:30am followed by a Funeral Divine Liturgy at 10am in St. George Byzantine Catholic Church. 

Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.

Parastas will be conducted on Thursday at 7:30pm in the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
